Choose comparable test and control areas

Select panels with similar orientation, tilt, shading, age and condition. Keep an untreated control group where practical. Record panel identifiers so results can be traced to the same equipment throughout the trial.

Establish the baseline

Review available generation and cleaning records before application. Inspect the panels for damage and document existing deposits. Clean the trial and control areas using the same process so they begin from a comparable condition.

Apply under suitable conditions

Follow the product requirements for weather, panel temperature, preparation and curing. Confirm that the treatment is compatible with the panel manufacturer’s requirements and warranty conditions. Observe site safety and work-at-height controls.

Monitor more than one indicator

Track relevant generation data together with rainfall, cleaning events and visual observations. Where appropriate, use consistent photographs or soiling measurements. Avoid attributing short-term changes to coating without accounting for operating conditions.

Set review points in advance

Agree monitoring intervals and decision criteria before the trial starts. The review should consider cleanliness, maintenance effort, observed durability and any measurable performance difference under comparable conditions.
